On Sunday, I went to go see Vampire Weekend play at Marymoore Park in Redmond. Their first opening act, Dum Dum Girls, weren’t too shabby. I liked them. But their second opening act, Beach House, made me feel like I’d seriously been missing out and I’ve been listening to them quite a bit lately.
So how was Vampire Weekend, you ask? I don’t know, I can’t tell you. The show, unfortunately, was cancelled due to an illness in the band (turns out Ezra Koenig had inflamed vocal chords or summin’). Drat. So basically, I missed out on seeing my favorite band play, but there will be a future show and our tickets are still valid. Let’s hope I don’t have school and/or work. At least I danced my ass off while we were there.
In positive news, I bought a frakkin’ leather jacket. Yup. No, you read that right. I was in Red Light and picked it up as a joke, but that jacket meant business. And then to ensure that I just had to buy it, a cute girl said “That guy found a nice leather jacket” as I walked to the counter. It’s the new wolf shirt.
Well I am off to go read and catch some sleep. To anyone who’s still reading this and is going back to school, best of luck and try to make it worthwhile and fun. I cannot stress that enough.
Oh, apart from Beach House, this is my go-to artist at the moment, Neon Indian:
Other bands: Hot Chip, Discovery, Vampire Weekend (of course!), Bon Iver, Childish Gambino and the Whitest Boy Alive. Trust me, that’s a solid line-up.
i’m really jealous of your nice leather find. i’d really like a fine leather jacket (monkey island reference? anybody? nope? kay.) but i’m petite so nothing sexy fits. yay. but guys are the only ones that can work it, anyways.
weird comment, sorry!
